In just over three months, our courageous trekkers will be setting off on an 11-day adventure across the Great Wall of China! They will be trekking across remote parts of the wall as well as heading off the beaten track and exploring the remote forests that surround the wall itself.

With a goal of raising $55,000 for Act for Kids, our trekkers are calling on you to help fundraise  to make a difference to children around Australia who have experienced abuse and neglect. There are so many fun and unique ways you can help raise funds for Act for Kids by supporting our trekkers. We’ve compiled a list of some of our favourite fundraising ideas for you to try at your workplace, school or simply with a group of friends.

Dress Up Day. Ever dreamt about wearing your pyjamas to work? Well now you can! Organise a fun or silly dress up day for your workplace with a minimum donation required from everyone who participates. Whether you organise a pyjama day, superhero day or even a Hawaiian shirt day – choose something that everyone can get involved with. It’s a great team building initiative and supports a great cause at the same time.

Loose Change Challenge. Just about everyone has a jar somewhere in their house full of abandoned coins that they swear they’ll take to the bank someday! Set a Loose Change Challenge for your office or school and split up into teams to see who can raise the most money from just their spare change.

Movie Night. Organise a movie night and screen an old classic or a new release – up to you. Serve your favourite childhood snacks or classic popcorn and sell tickets to your friends. Best part about your own movie night? You can talk as much as you want!

Coffee Challenge. Ever thought about how much you spend on coffee in a month? Set a challenge with your colleagues to forego takeaway coffee and get your caffeine fix at work or at home. Donate what you would spend in a month on coffee – you’ll be surprised how quickly it adds up. Skipping one coffee a day for a month = one hour of therapy.

Trivia Night. Hosting a trivia night is a great way to raise funds and bring together a large group of people. There are lots of trivia questions available online, teams can make a donation to participate and everyone gets to enjoy a night of testing their knowledge!

High Tea. If you have a knack for baking, why not get together a group of friends for a high tea in honour of Act for Kids? Why could be nicer than an afternoon of finger sandwiches, scones and tea while raising money for an amazing cause?
